YOKE MADE OF NICKEL SILVER WITH TRIPLE SILVER PLATING
First Argentine Coin.
Argentina's first national currency was created in 1813, during the height of the revolutionary process, by decision of the General Constituent Assembly (Assembly of the Year XIII).
Its creation responded to a need that was not only economic, but also profoundly political and symbolic: to remove the faces of the Bourbon kings of Spain from everyday life and replace them with the ideals of the newly independent nation.
